News Archive
The British Embassy

This is the news archive thing - nearly every site I visit has one so I just thought I'd have one too.

When I run out of room on the front page the old news will be here.

Tuesday June 4th:
Happy June everyone! I updated the schedule with upcoming episodes for the next couple of weeks - please note timeslot changes - and the movie "Tommy Boy" has been added to cast appearances, I've never seen the movie but it features an uncredited appearance by Rob Lowe. It might only be a blink and you miss it cameo type thing - I have no idea!

Saturday May 24th:
I added another cast appearance - Allison Janney's appearance in the movie "Six Days, Seven Nights", not a bad movie overall and Allison is very funny in it from what I can remember. Thanks to Jo for pointing it out to me in The Radio Times!

Friday May 23rd:
Well, as predicted, there is no episode next week - apparently there's room for two episodes of "Big Brother" but no room for TWW. :( The next episode is on June 2nd at the later time of 11:40pm.

I also added a cast appearance - I saw that Mary-Louise Parker is in a film on Five next Tuesday so I figured that she counts as cast now. I have no idea what "Anne Tyler's Saint Maybe" is about though.

Monday May 19th:
I updated the upcoming episodes to remove the episode from last week - there is no episode for next week listed on Radiotimes.com, I don't know if that means that there isn't one. Hopefully, the announcer dude will clear that up at the end of tonights episode.

I also added a cast appearance - the film "The Final Countdown", which features Martin Sheen, is on tomorrow night (May 20th) - sorry for the short notice there. Thanks to Richard for the heads-up.

Friday May 9th:
Happy May everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates for the past couple of weeks - I have no excuse, sorry, it won't happen again.

I updated the schedule to include the next two episodes - which appear to have moved to 11:10pm. I hope the show stays in that timeslot for the rest of the season. I haven't includedc any cast appearances because as far as I can tell there aren't any, if I'm missing any please feel free to let me know! It's hard keeping track of all TWW actors and movies they've been in.

Thursday April 24th:

Did anyone catch "The American President" at the weekend? It was bizarrely like "The West Wing" - it took me a while to get my head round it!

Anyway, I updated the schedule to remove the appearances that have now past - I wasnted to updated the upcoming episodes but The Radio Times isn't listing an episode for May 5th - that could mean that there isn't one or it could mean that The Radio Times just haven't listed it yet - I'll keep checking on that.

I also joined another non- "The West Wing" fanlisting - for the singer/songwriter Delta Goodrem!

Wednesday April 16th - PM:

I'd written the wrong time for "The American President", it's on at 10:50pm, not 10:30pm as I previously stated - I changed the schedule to fix that. Sorry about that.

Wednesday April 16th:

Woah, it's a nice day in sunny London! It's very springy! Anyway, enough with the weather report.

I've added a couple of cast appearances to the schedule - I'm quite excited about them myself - on Saturday and Sunday you can catch the Aaron Sorkin scripted movies "Malice" and "The American President", plus Martin Sheen also co-stars in the latter! I therefore rename Easter Weekend - it'll now be known as "Aaron Weekend"!

I also, updated the upcoming episodes - it now includes "100,000 Airplanes" on Monday April 28th - this episode is also at 11:30pm. This might be a perminant timeslot move.

Oh, and I also added a "news archive" page - the link is as the bottom of this "What's new" section.

I'll leave you with this quote from The Radio Times by Andrew Collins (about "The American President")

"It was written by The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin - to my mind a genius"

Thursday April 10th:
I updated the schedule so it now includes "H. Con-172" (which, btw, is on at the slightly later time of 11:30pm). I also added some non-TWW links (my dailies) - they are located under the non-TWW fanlistings to your right.

Thursday April 4th:

Happy April! Where did the first three months of the year go anyway? I updated the schedule to include the episode for April 14th ("Bartlet For America").

Monday March 31st:

I updated the links - a couple had changed addresses - and I added a link to the wonderfully titled "Broad Smile" - a Bradley Whitford site. Check it out!

I just thought I'd say a quick hello to a few people who are hopefully still checking this site. Hi, Katie (AKA Betty), Sarah, Ben (AKA Vertigo14) and Ben (AKA OneSon) - I hope you are all well.

Thursday March 27th:
I updated the schedule to remove the episode from the monday just gone and to include the episode for the monday after next ("The Women Of Qumar" - which is back at 11:05pm, btw) I also removed the movies at the cinema as I don't think they're on general release anymore.

Wednesday March 19th:

I updated the schedule so it now includes the episode "Indians In The Lobby" (which, btw, is on at the slightly later time of 11:10pm). I also added the movie "A Perfect World" to the schedule - featuring Bradley Whitford, I've seen it before and I think it's pretty good.

Wednesday March 12th:

I updated the schedule to include the next two weeks episodes and also Five are showing the SAG's on Saturday night - well, technically Sunday morning - I've added that to the schedule too. Speaking of...congrats to Stockard Channing who won a SAG at the weekend for the TV movie "The Matthew Shephard Story".

Thursday March 6th:

I joined another non-TWW fanlisting. For the character Greg from "CSI" - I love him!!

Wednesday March 5th:

Woah, it's March already? How did that happen?

Well, as you can tell from the schedule, Ch4 have moved the show. "On The Day Before" will be shown on Monday at 11:05pm followed by "War Crimes" at the same time the monday after.

Monday February 24th:

I added another cast appearance - you can catch Stockard Channing in the movie "Bitter Moon" on Wednesday, I've never seen it or even heard of it but it's directed by Roman Polanksi.

Saturday February 22nd - PM:

Well, according to the announcer at the end of tonights episode there is no episode next week - I updated the schedule with that info.

I also added the movie "The Rock" to the cast appearances - you can see John Spencer in a pre-TWW role on wednesday night.

Saturday February 22nd:

I added another section - The Episodes. I also haven't got The Radio Times yet, sorry. As soon as I do I'll add any cast appearances that need adding.

Thursday February 20th:

I updated the schedule a little - just to remove the appearances/episodes that have been aired already. I haven't looked at The Radio Times yet this week, I'll get it tomorrow and if there's any cast appearances I'll will update again.

Friday February 14th:

Congrats to Stockard Channing for winning The London Film Critics Award for her performance in "The Business of Strangers".

I also, updated the schedule with the upcoming episodes on Ch4. Note to Radiotimes.com: Listing the the same episode two weeks in a row is very annoying.

Saturday February 8th:

I hope you all enjoyed watching (or maybe re-watching?) "Manchester" tonight - I did. According to the voice-over dude on the end credits of tonight's episode next weeks will be on at 8:30pm - which, by the way, has thrown my schedule right off as it now clashes with "CSI: Miami" - bugger!

Wednesday February 5th:

I added another cast appearance - the movie "Drop Dead Gorgeous" is on BBC1 on Feb 16th. Check it out if you can - Allison Janney's very funny in it. Thanks to Richard for the heads-up.

Tuesday February 4th:

I added another cast appearance - Rob Lowe's appearance in the movie "Austin Powers: The Sky Who Shagged Me", I'm not a fan of this film series but Rob's pretty funny in this one even though he's not in it very much. I also added "Manchester" Pt 2 to the upcoming episodes.

Monday February 3rd:

I added the movie "Catch Me If You Can" to the cast appearances - you can catch Martin Sheen on the big screen! It's already on General Release.

Saturday February 1st:
Huh, it's February already? How did that happen? Anyway, I actually started on the "The Ship" page - there's not much there right now, but hopefully there will be soon. Speaking of Josh and Donna (well, I was) I added another link, to the Josh and Donna screencaps site "Misdirection".

Ooh, btw, a week today the new season starts on Ch4!!!! Excited much?

Thursday January 30th:
I added a new page!! A friend of mine has very kindly let me put up some sounds he made! They are located on the "sounds" page - the link is above you! They're not just regular sounds so check them out, I know you'll love them!

Also, I saw a couple of adverts for season 3 on Ch4 last night - they are great trailers and the new season does indeed start on Feb 8th! I can't wait! Plus, I added "CSI:Miami" to the cast appearances - it's on every week, saturdays at 9pm.
